I have been working with patients of all ages as a Speech Language Pathologist to achieve better communication and oral motor skills since 2001. I love to empower patients and their families to apply learned skills and strategies in their everyday lives.

Areas of Expertise: I have a passion for orofacial myofunctional disorders and their impacts on oral motor skills for eating, drinking, swallowing, breathing and communication. I specialize in the treatment of feeding disorders; swallowing disorders (dysphagia); oral motor disorders; speech sound disorders; sleep disordered breathing; Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD); reducing noxious oral habits (ex: thumb sucking object chewing); and tethered oral tissues (tongue, lip and cheek ties). I utilize orofacial myofunctional therapy and manual therapy techniques to address patient's unique oral motor needs.

Education/Certifications: I received my Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts degrees in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

I hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and am a member of ASHA's Topic Focused Communities: Neurogenic Communication Disorders; Voice and Upper Airway; as well as Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders.

Specialized Training: I have advanced training in the Orofacial Complex and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy through the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM). I have advanced training in Manual Therapy techniques for voice and swallowing disorders. I am level I PROMPT trained. I am trained in Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding; food chaining; Beckman oral motor assessment and treatment; Guided Oral Motor with Active Patterning (GOMAPS) feeding treatment; as well as Talk Tools oral motor therapy training.
