Interaction with infants and young children and their families has inspired me to work in pediatrics in a variety of settings since 1990.
Areas of Expertise: I have extensive experience with infants and children with a wide range of diagnoses including Torticollis, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, cardiac conditions, orthopedic injury, Down syndrome and hypotonia. I emphasize core strengthening, modifying yoga and pilates techniques for young children. I utilize kinesiotaping techniques for carryover between sessions. Each session, I provide family education for home activities for optimal progress.
Education: I received my B.A. in Biology, Athletic Training and Health Fitness from Gustavus Adolphus College and my B.S. in physical therapy from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Mo.
Specialized Training: I am certified in neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT). I am also certified as an Infant Massage Instructor and teach families techniques for calming and communicating with their infant. I have taken multiple courses on pilates, yoga, kinesiotaping and handling techniques over the years.
